The Wallingford Community Council (WCC) of Seattle is a neighborhood voice representing the greater Wallingford community in interactions with city government on land use, transportation, and parks. WCC has been advocating for Wallingford for decades. The council has had its hand in negotiations regarding the transfer station, the Wallingford Steps, Animal Storm sculpture, support for the Wallingford parade during Seafair in July, and so much more! Lincoln High School Performing Arts: Upcoming Shows

Our neighborhood high school, Lincoln High School, has a fantastic performing arts program. With spring semester coming to an end, it’s the season for some great musical performances, right here in the neighborhood! All events will be held in the auditorium at Lincoln, entrance on Woodlawn Avenue near N 44th Street. Seattle Tilth Edible Plant Sale, May 9-11

This is something of an annual public service announcement for Wallingford: reminder that this coming weekend is the Seattle Tilth Edible Plant Sale at Meridian Park. There is a Friday evening pre-sale, followed by the Saturday and Sunday main events. On the one hand, it is a sure harbinger that spring is here to stay (with one or two exceptions, of course). Wallingford is blessed to have two full-service florists serving the community. One is Cedarhouse Flowers, located at 1621 N 45th Street, and the second is Hansen’s Florist Shop, at 4606 Stone Way N. Local Middle School Wins Big at Prestigious Jazz Festival

The students at Hamilton International Middle School in Wallingford are celebrating their music department. The jazz program, led by Angela Pence, won three first-place trophies during their trip to the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Moscow, Idaho over spring break. The school’s Vocal Jazz Ensemble took the top prize in the Junior Division, as well as first place in the Junior Vocal Solo category.
