Our long, dry year is almost over. On March 21, 2009, the Wallingford liquor store rolled the last case of hooch out the front door and turned the keys over to Archie McPhee. This month’s Hamilton Construction Update is brought to you in part by the word “accoutrement”, as in: the construction workers at Hamilton are putting in plants, light fixtures and other accoutrement on school grounds. This to me signals the beginning of the end; the light at the end of the tunnel. Hallelujah! Sock Monster, the new alt-hosiery shop that slots in between Not a Number Gifts and Teahouse Kuan Yin at 1909 N. 45th St opens today with an all-day party until 9 pm.
