Ladies, Duck!

Eliza gave us the heads up that Adult Co-Ed Dodgeball is starting up for the season at the Wallingford Boys and Girls Club. Unfortunately, as is often the case, all the boy spots are taken, but there are girls spots still available (unless you can put a full team together). Games are either Wednesday or Sundays, more details on the Underdog Dodgeball web site. Don't worry, they assure us it's played with no-sting Rhino Skin coated foam dodgeballs. Ah, Dodgeball, where…

Thursday Evening Huskies Game

The UW Huskies host UCLA tonight, for a rare Thursday night football game. Kickoff is at 5 p.m. and traffic is expected to be significantly congested in and around the University District. Meet Sounders’ Marshall in Wallingford

Soccer nation is alive and kickin' in Seattle. World Cup fever had folks watching games at all hours, in pubs all around town. And now the Seattle Sounders are on a four-game winning streak (did everyone see Montero and Fernandez light up the pitch on Sunday night against Houston), making them fourth in the West, tied for fifth overall in MLS, and most importantly, squarely back in playoff contention. To top it off, a late header from the newly acquired midfielder, Alvaro Fernandez, helped them advance to the group stage…

Shoots and…scores!

Earlier today, we shared a letter that the Woodland Soccer Club had sent the city, asking that they not close Wallingford Field this season, as it had already been promised and scheduled for practices. Jen just posted this note to the comment section of that article: This is an email response my husband just got from Richard Conlin: Thank you for your message about the Wallingford Playfield field restoration work and the upcoming soccer season. I am pleased to report that…

Face off at Wallingford Field

If you or yours are one of the many members of the Seattle Youth Soccer Association (SYSA), you may want to check your schedule. The city has withdrawn Wallingford Field as a site for soccer practice and games for the Fall season, apparently with very little notice to the organizers and players. In a letter to Tim Gallagher, Parks Superintendent, and Tom Rasmussen, City Council Member who chairs the Parks Committee, Duncan Munro, President of the Woodland Soccer Club, a SYSA…
