Grants For Walk To School Month

Want to make the neighborhood safer for kids? The city is willing to help: In October, during International Walk to School month, the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) is accepting applications for mini-grants of up to $1,000 to fund projects that educate students about pedestrian and bicycle safety, and encourage walking and biking to school. Community Council Meets Wednesday

The Wallingford Community Council will meet Wednesday, October 2, 7:00 PM at the Good Shepherd Center. On the agenda for discussion will be an upcoming  candidates forum for Mayor and Council positions, Waste Management's new neighborhood challenge and grant awards for recycling, long term plans for sewer overflow control into Lake Union, and updates on the proposed CVS and Avtech projects and other current land use issues.
