Patty’s Eggnest Returns to Wallingford

How many of you remember when Patty's Eggnest was open in the Seamonster Lounge spot on N. 45th St? According to Yelp, that was back in 2005. Eons ago. If you peruse some of the Yelp reviews, you'll see the popular breakfast spot was missed from the moment it left. Well, good news for Patty's fans: Reader Joan tells us that she spotted some action at the Chabela's space on Tuesday, and when she asked someone, they told her that Patty's Eggnest would…

Family Fun at Wallingford Library

Heather McNamee, Supervising Librarian at the Wallingford Branch of the Seattle Public Library (SPL), wrote to tell us about some new, free, family-oriented programs at the library. This Sunday (July 21), from 2-3:00pm, the Wallingford branch (1501 N. 45th St.) will host "Ponto el Ritmo" ("Put Your Rhythm On!"), which, Heather tells us, is "a fun, interactive, music workshop for the whole family where we will learn about Brazilian and Cuban music and instruments, and dance dance dance!"  More from the SPL…

Paron’s Closet closing

Jacqui alerted us on Twitter that Paron's Closet in Wallingford Center was closing its doors; so we went in on Monday and spoke to store manager, Ashley, who confirmed the sad news. Satay Opens Kids Dining Room

Finding a restaurant you can bring kids is one thing. Finding one where you can sit and enjoy your meal, that's something else. Vios on Capitol Hill and more recently sharing space with Third Place Books in Ravenna created a model: good food paired with an open kids play area. Adults eat, kids play. Kids play, adults talk. To each other. Bliss. Now, the Malaysian street food restaurant  Satay (1711 N. 45th) has opened a new family friendly dining room: The recently remodeled separate…

Springtime in Wallingford

Yeah, we know it's summer, at least, according to the calendar; but it's never too late to admire the spring blooms in our neighborhood. Wallingford resident, Emily, captured some of Wallingford's prettiest springtime flowers, and she sent us this note with a link to her photos: I have been doing a photo project this spring that I've been calling "Spring Time in Seattle".  Most of the photos are flowers from Wallingford yards, and so I wanted to share them with my neighbors. The photo…
