Results for the first four months of the Think Green Recycling Challenge have been released. The Friday North route - which includes Wallingford and part of the Green Lake neighborhood - is in first place, but not by much. There's a bit of the voyeur in all of us, isn't there? A draw to those certain pieces of literature that offer a glimpse into someone else's private tragedy or sorrow. Bicycle/vehicle collision this morning

A bicycle/vehicle collision occurred this morning at 7:55 AM on the corner of N. 40th and Stone Way N., according to Terrie Johnston of the Seattle Police Department. We only know a few details at the moment. The 911 report lists the accident as "Medic Response, 6 per rule" which means that 6 fire department personnel were sent to treat the patient. Missing Cat, Sammy

Kristen writes: Hi, folks- Our cat, Sammy, has gone missing (again).  Sammy is a juvenile, female, gray/white short-hair tabby - VERY friendly and social.  She was last seen Saturday morning on Wallingford, roaming between 47th (where we live) and the qfc parking lot. Dogs and Chickens

We heard this tragedy from Alison over the weekend: Here is a photo of the late, great Rhode Island Red, Ginger.  She and her flockmate Cricket were killed yesterday (Friday) at about 9.00 a.m. in my upper Wallingford backyard by two dogs.  They injured a third chicken, Lacey, so severely that I had to kill her, and Rita is sitting in a cardboard  box in my kitchen.  We'll see if she will manage to pull through.  Why am I hoping that…
