Hamilton Science Fair rescheduled for next Tuesday

Mark your calendars, folks, because the awesomely-cool annual Science Night at Hamilton International Middle School (1610 N. 41st. Street) has been rescheduled for next Tuesday, February 7, from 6:00PM-8:00PM. You may remember that Science Night was originally slated for January 17, but had been canceled because of the snow. Seattle Schools seeks waiver for two snow days

Seattle Schools is asking the Office of Superintendent of Public Education (OSPI) for a waiver for the January 19 and 20 snow days, when Gov. Chris Gregoire declared Washington in a State of Emergency. If approved, Seattle Schools would not have to make up the two days at the end of the school year. Otherwise, SPS says it will cost the District roughly $500,000 to make up two of the snow days in June. OSPI officials will decide next month how school…

WCC and SPU Agree on Terms for Transfer Station Rebuild

The Wallingford Community Council (WCC) and Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) have been negotiating for more than eight months on the terms of a contract concerning the rebuilding of the North Transfer Station.  The WCC transfer station working group will present the terms of the contract and its recommendations for approval at the regular WCC meeting on Wednesday.
