New Wallingford Park and Maritime Facility

The Wallingford Community Council will review two new recreational additions to Wallingford at the WCC’s meeting on Wednesday, January 4th. The first involves a park-open space development in conjunction with the rebuilding North Transfer Station. Members of the Community Council have been negotiating for months with Seattle Public Utilities regarding contract details for the rebuild of the transfer station. Muddy Cup Reopening

A Muddy Cup has been closed the last several weeks, due to illness (see Muddy Cup Closure). Good news, though, Sarah says it's set to re-open tomorrow: I just wanted to let our Wallyhood friends know that Mathew and I will be opening our doors again Monday, January 2nd and hope to share some warm drinks and pastries with our friends again.  I also wanted to thank everyone for their warm wishes and understanding. Double Rainbow

Wallingford got its own double rainbow on Friday. Luna wrote: Oh how I wish I had a better camera to catch the DOUBLE rainbow over Wallingford this afternoon around 3pm! Not only were there two rainbows – the “main” one even had dark lavender as the bottom layer.  Here are the photos I managed to get.  In #28, you can vaguely see the second rainbow on the right edge and in #30 you can almost see the extra stripes of color.
