After the fire

Damage to the bungalow behind Kitaro Last night, scores of firefighters from all over Seattle descended on N. 45th Street at Densmore to put out the blaze that ripped through the top floor of the bungalow behind Kitaro shortly after 6:00pm. Thankfully, there were no injuries from the fire. King 5 reports that an elderly woman lived in the house and was evacuated to safety. PTA alerts families to proposed cuts in education

Yesterday, Washington State PTA sent an email alert out to Seattle Public School families living in the 43rd District (Wallingford, Fremont, Capitol Hill) about a legislative hearing today that includes proposed budget cuts to K-12 education. In the alert, the PTA asks that families take action by contacting legislators to oppose these cuts which includes shortening the 180-day school year by four days. Snowman Pancakes on Sunday

The Wallingford Community Senior Center is hosting a Community "Snowman Pancake" Breakfast this Sunday, December 11 from 9am to noon. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2.50 for children 5 and under. Hansen’s Florist Coming to Wallingford

Hansen's Florist is opening a location on Stone Way N. at N. 46th St. (4606 Stone Way N.), just to the right of Zaw. This morning Wallyhood received a reader tip from a tipster who said she heard something that sounded like an explosion last night near 54th & 1st Ave.   Not sure what time. Dotted Line Open Studio and Holiday Party
