Raw Sewage Dump

This nasty little tidbit of information comes to us from reader Kris, who received the following letter: Raw Sewage Dump: The consensus of Seattle Public Utilities, the Fire Department and the Seattle Public Utilities Operations Response Center, is that likely an RV purposely emptied their toilet holding tank onto our street.  What we have smelled and perhaps seen along the east side of the street is raw sewage.  It appears to start around 46th and Eastern and continues east on 50th. …

Aurora motel site receives Seattle Housing Levy funds

Back in July, we told you about Catholic Housing Services (CHS) acquiring the former Thunderbird/Fremont Inn motel site to convert the property into low income housing. Yesterday at the site, Mayor Mike McGinn announced a $27 million dollar levy to fund the construction of seven new apartments for low income families, seniors, and veterans citywide, including the Aurora site. CHS will receive $1.6 million dollars "to construct permanent housing with supportive services for chronically homeless individuals, including veterans," according to the statement issued…

Holiday Cheers to Wallingford is Next Week
