Wallingford Art Walk

Lots of getting out to be done this month: tonight (Tuesday) is Seattle Night Out, this Sunday is the Wallingford Music Festival, next Saturday is The Goddess Festival and tomorrow (Wednesday) is Art Walk! From 6 - 9 pm, take a stroll through Wallingford, take in some art, listen to some music, nibble on some nibblables, chat with your neighbors. If you need a map, you can grab one from the Wallingford Art Walk web site. We're asked to remind you that…

Wallingford Music Festival

There are two, count them two, music festivals by local musicians in Meridian Park (4649 Sunnyside Ave N) in the next two weeks. This coming Sunday, August 7th from 11 am - 7 pm, is the Wallingford Music Festival. That's their poster at right, and we know what you're thinking: homage to the Egyptian revolution by kindergartners, or reminisce from a DMT trip spent watching the TeleTubbies? Difficult to say. Don't worry about it too much. Here's the point: nine local bands, many based…

In the years that have passed since then, we have developed so many great friends in Wallingford &…

Night Out Tuesday

Reminder: Tuesday is Seattle Night Out: all over Wallingford (and the city), folks will be barricading off their streets to traffic, hauling lawn chairs and tables from the back yard out to the street and sharing an evening with their neighbors. According to the City of Seattle's official map, there's only one registered block in Wallingford (40th and Midvale, give it up for Shannon O'Leary for registering!), but we don't believe that for a moment. We pedaled around the neighborhood last…

Wallingford Ave blocked from 40th down to 37th

Update: there was a kitchen fire at 3907 Wallingford Avenue. No injuries reported. Traffic is now back to normal. Wallingford Avenue is closed by the Seattle Fire Dept from 40th down to about 37th due to some sort of incident -- as best I could tell from the cab I was just in, a car accident. Northbound Metro buses are sitting at Wallingford & 37th, unable to go north or reroute through the small streets nearby. We'll keep you posted if/as…

Clips of Faith

Sometimes, it's so beautiful here, you forget that there are months that begin with D and F. This week is one of those times. What you want to do is wait until the heat of the day has passed and the sky is starting to get that blue-rosy wash, plop yourself down in a lawn chair in a park somewhere, sip a cold beer, chat with the people around you and maybe just relax to a movie. So here's your reminder…
