Register Now For Seattle Night Out 2011

This year's National Night Out is on Tuesday, August 2, and SPD's Seattle Night Out website went live earlier this week, so you can register your block now, and add your event to the citywide calendar. Last call for Raffle for Japan

Back in March, we told you that Not a Number's Kids Club enlisted the support of about 15 Wallingford businesses to start a fundraiser for Japan. Since then, the support with prizes from businesses has more than doubled and they've raised over $1,000, which will go to ShelterboxUSA.org to deliver supplies to families in Japan. Uptown Espresso burglarized

We just heard word from reader Andrew that the Uptown Espresso on 45th was burglarized last night: The manager said it seemed pretty sophisticated - the phone line had been cut so the security system didn't work. The front door was smashed and cash was taken. They are open for business as usual today.
