Labor Day Weekend is upon us, marking the end of outdoor festivals, movies, and block parties. It’s a time when we honor thy mighty Bumbershoot and prep the outdoor grill for that last barbecue. While many plan to get the heck out of Dodge for that last long weekend until…Thanksgiving (Ugh, really? Is the next one that far away?), we’ve got some suggestions for those who plan to stick around:

8 PM – Nonsequitur presents a benefit for Seattle artist and experimental musician Wyndel Hunt (seriously injured in a bicycle accident on June 19) featuring Climax Golden Twins, Bill Horist, and Vance Galloway at the Chapel Performance Space in the Good Shepherd Center.
Wine Tasting at City Cellars, 5pm – 7pm Tastings are drop-in and informal, and they include a flight of up to three wines for $3-$5 (refundable with wine purchase). On Friday night, they’ll be tasting new arrivals.
8 PM – Seattle Composers’ Salon presents new music by Keith Eisenbrey, David Mesler, Doug Palmer, and Tom Baker at the Chapel Performance Space in the Good Shepherd Center.
Solo Travelers at Wide World Books & Maps – 9am – 10am
This is a monthly informal gathering of travelers as they meet and learn from each other’s travel experiences and share wisdom learned on the road.
Woodland Park Off Leash Area Volunteer Work Party – 11:00 a.m.
We love our dogs and we love our dogs off leash. Let’s give back to the off leash park by helping to clean it up and get it ready for the rainy season.
