Wallyhood Halloween

Last October, Zillow.com deemed Wallingford the most trick-or-treatest neighborhood in Seattle.  But we’ve got even more than that going on.  Check out this year’s Halloween lineup:

  • Woodland Park Zoo Pumpkin Bash.  Saturday & Sunday Oct 29th & 30th, from 9:30am – 2:30pm.  One costumed child 12 years or under FREE with each paid adult!  Pumpkins for the animals, trick-or-treating, live entertainment, and more are in store for little goblins and ghosts at Woodland Park Zoo’s family friendly Pumpkin Bash. Click here for the full animal enrichment schedule.
  • Halloween Hoopla at the Wallingford Boys and Girls Club.  Saturday October 29, from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. An annual, old-fashioned community tradition! The Hoopla features a haunted house (scary-for older youth), Frankenstein’s Lab (perfect for all), carnival games, a cake walk, arts & crafts, and much more. Entry is just a buck for five tickets, and if you bring cans for the local food bank, you’ll earn even more tickets.
  • Mosaic Community Halloween Shindig  is happening this Saturday, Oct. 29th, from 7:00pm – 11:00 pm. Mosaic will have three live bands, costume contests, prizes, candy, and a full coffee bar open. Stop by in a costume and get a free drink! For those who’ve asked… The live music, will all be fun indie music… some covers, some original stuff, featuring Ben Shwartz, James Kelly Pitts, and The Perfect Weather.
  • Wallingford Center HalloweenHalloween, 4-7 pm. Wallingford Center celebrates Halloween this year in conjunction with Green Halloween (GreenHalloween.org). Many of the businesses will be handing out healthy, nutritional alternatives. Activities and fun for the whole family. Support the Wallingford Center Merchants Association’s fall food drive by bringing a non-perishable donation to benefit FamilyWorks Food Bank. Food drive runs 10/31 – 11/20. More details here.
  • The Wallingford Chamber is encouraging other Wallingford businesses to host Green Trick or Treating Monday, so swing by all your favorite haunts while you’re in the ‘hood Monday evening.
  • Wallingford Eats Food Truck Pod.  10/31 from 4-8 pm.  Our new mobile food pod, Wallingford Eats, will be in full swing on Halloween.  Here’s the lineup: Buns, Raney Brothers BBQ, Snout and Company, Fusion on the Run, Where Ya At? Matt, Street Treats, Dante, Parfait, Skillet, Big Foot, Caribreoso.  Click here to see the map: http://www.wallingfordeats.com/halloween.htm

  • The Wallingford Branch of the Seattle Public Library.  On Halloween, the staff will have a branch-wide theme in dress and decor and will have candy/stickers for our little patrons, as well as the usual assortment of free goodies (books, movies, etc) until 8:00pm!
