The autumnal equinox is coming up on Tuesday, September 22nd, making this the last weekend of summer! It looks to be lovely, weather-wise, allowing us to make the most of the many activities on offer in and near our neighborhood.
Of course, there’s the Great Wallingford Bratwurst Festival, the Oktoberfest-esque neighborhood party for young and old alike. But there are many other things going on as well. We’ve covered some of this in Wallyhood already, and they are on the Wallingford Event Calendar, but here’s a roundup:

ℹ️ The band Hockey Teeth performs at 6 pm, offering “a fresh and infectious take on the classic power pop sound, drawing comparisons to Phoenix, Elvis Costello, and Wilco.” The movie Grease (1978) follows at dusk.

Light Beam Dance

ℹ️ Light Beam Dance has been putting on events all summer. Now it’s time to say farewell to the season with an outdoor ecstatic dance party. The event is free, just bring your dance vibes! Live music from DJ Niz Dass. Light-up toys welcome.
Luminata

ℹ️ An illuminated lantern procession on the path at Green Lake in celebration of the autumnal equinox. You can purchase lanterns on site, or bring something of your own. The procession is led by musicians and flows along the path from the Aqua Theatre to the Seattle Public Theatre. Art installations will be on display at the end of the route.
Wallingford Community Senior Center Fall Reception
