Lower Wallingford: It’s Gonna Be Loud Tonight

This report sent in by Lower Wallingford Correspondent, Chris Witwer. What is up with the sound stage & loud electric music on Wallingford Avenue, just below 34th?  It seems that the little cul de sac there has been blocked off with "road closed" signs and a music stage has been erected. At 2:45 pm today, some very loud, electrified rock bands did a sound check.  My partner (working from home at 35th & Wallingford) wandered out to see what's up.  She was…

Free Pangaea Coffee and Sponsor Thanks

We're very happy to welcome a new sponsor to Wallyhood, the fine folks over at Pangaea Organica, roasting artisan, fair trade coffee right in Wallingford. Blaine and E.…

Wayne Horvitz at the Chapel

One of the treats of living in Seattle is that we share the town with many musical greats, such as Bill Frisell, Sir Mix-a-lot, Caspar Babypants and that jam-band guy who lives in Wallingford. Living here means you get to hear them play here, sometimes, too. No, not that jam band guy, sorry. But you will have the opportunity to hear the world-famous jazz musician and composer Wayne Horvitz this Saturday night at the Chapel Performance Space in the Good Shepherd…
