Ladd & Lass Brewing Opens in Old Floating Bridge Space

Situated just outside the eastern border of Wallingford on the “other” side of the freeway, Ladd & Lass Brewing is about to re-open in the space formerly occupied by Floating Bridge…and before that, the Rainbow Tavern.  New owners and husband-and-wife team Nick Ladd and Jessie Quan are doing a soft opening beginning on Wednesday, December 22nd (that's today!) and continuing through the holidays.  Their hours during the opening are here.  Wallyhood wishes them the best!

Open Books has been in Wallingford for 25 years, and it's now time to say goodbye. Crime in the City: A Case Study

We recently reported on the violent altercation that took place outside of Murphy’s Pub in the heart of Wallingford, along with the subsequent arrest of the accused perpetrator in Meridian Park. While these kinds of incidents in our neighborhood make all of us uneasy, it occurred to the editors at Wallyhood…well, one of them, anyway…that it also provided an opportunity to learn about the process of criminal justice in Seattle, and how it (literally) is prosecuted. My original idea was to…
