Wallingford-based author Laureen Nussbaum will be reading from her new book, Shedding Our Stars: The Story of Hans Calmeyer and How He Saved Thousands of Families Like Mine, at the Wallingford Library on Sunday, December 8th. The Italian restaurant Perché No (1319 N 49th St) will end a twenty-two year run, thirteen of them in Wallingford / Green Lake, on December 18th. Annual Santa Paws Event Sunday 10am – 3pm

The holiday festivities include your pets.  You can get your pet photographed with Santa Claus at WallyPets ( 4411 Wallingford Ave N ) this Sunday from 10 am - 3pm.   The event continues to support Old Dog Haven , a Washington state non-profit that provides medical care and permanent foster homes for homeless older dogs.   You can get a lot of good done by having your pet's photo taken with Santa. Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you're safe, warm, well-fed and spending time with friends or family. FamilyWorks is running another Family Holiday Program this year, collecting gifts for families in need. Kirby Lochner from FamilyWorks writes that they're doing it a little bit differently this year. It may not yet be Thanksgiving, but holiday markets are happening in our neighborhood this weekend. If you like shopping locally, Wallingford has two events next weekend that will meet your needs.
