Two recent shootings in our neighborhood have left neighbors a bit frazzled to say the least. The most recent shooting occurred in the 1900 block of 46th St on Tuesday. The Seattle Police Blotter reports: … it appears the incident unfolded shortly after 4:15 PM Tuesday in the 1900 block of North 46th Street when two tenants, who live in separate apartment units, became embroiled in a dispute. One of the three tenants in the home reportedly armed himself with a knife…

Tom is the co-leader of Green Lake & Wallingford Safe Streets.  He lives at the intersection at the south end of Green Lake Park. Anyone who has visited Green Lake has gone through a crappy intersection. Whether you’re driving, biking, or walking, there are plenty to choose from: the 5-way cluster at 50th Street and Stone Way; the crazy Pitch & Putt intersection at the south end of the lake; or the indecisive four-way stop at Ravenna Blvd. The City has…

Well, change looks like it is finally on the horizon (although not the change everyone may have hoped for). Mike Ruby spotted this proposal on the City of Seattle's website for the property: SDR - Construct 10,200 sq. ft.…

My husband Adam and I have been together for 25 years and have always had a mixed relationship. He is an atheist; I am a Catholic. When we got married in the church back in 2000, he tolerated the premarital classes and agreed to raise our future children Catholic. Although our beliefs are vastly different, we have always respected and supported each other. When friends make snide comments about my faith, he has my back, and I appreciate it. As a…
