Ed Hartman over at The Drum Exchange wanted to let folks know about a prowler in the neighborhood: A prowler has trespassed through several businesses' back doors, attempting to steal computers, etc. He's African American, about 6 ft. tall, medium-build with a mustache. He's been seen drinking a can of either tea or beer and appears slightly drunk, and he smokes cigarettes He walked into our business today (Mon Feb 18, 2013 4pm) saying he didn't realize it wasn't OK to do. …

Personal safety reminder

On Monday morning, at approximately 6:30 a.m., a female jogger was attacked by a man while she was running around Green Lake. The incident occurred on Green Lake Drive North at Wallingford Avenue. According to the SPD Blotter, "the victim was able to fight off her attacker and the incident was reported at 6:45 a.m." A nearby bicyclist chased the suspect, following him into a residential area, but lost sight of him. Ambling home down 45th St last night, we noticed some work going on in the old Lotus Thai at the corner of Meridian, which closed back in January. Turns out the man screwing in light bulbs at 10 o'clock at night was Apple, part of the husband and wife team that bought the business when the owners of Lotus Thai retired.
