Parking Enforcement Update

Last week we posted a note from Carrie, who got a parking ticket in front of her own residence.  The post, aptly titled "Please, Drive Your Car Regularly" prompted 35 comments & questions, including a few about the 72 hour rule.    The question of vacation & business trips came up -- will we be ticketed if we go out of town for a week and leave a car in front of our house?   There were also questions about whether vehicles are ticketed any time…

What You Think, When You Think It

There have been some great discussions in our Forums and comments sections this past week, here are some highlights: Beware of the Norovirus!  For those health fanatics out there you can learn the latest breaking news about a virus affecting our area...it makes me a little Noronervous! Redesign the Mosaic Den

The whole idea just seems too wacky to be true: a delicious coffeehouse with pastries where you pay whatever you want (or nothing at all, if you think that's fair), big comfortable chairs, a well appointed children's playroom and a community gathering space available for whoever needs it. But the Mosaic Coffeehouse is stranger than fiction. Now, a group of folks are going to give something back. Post your entry below, in the comments section, now through April 26. On Friday, April 30, we will…

Bike Blender

Hope you all made it to the Bikes are Beautiful event we told you about this past Saturday. We had hoped to, as well, but had a last minute romantic date with a stomach virus, instead. Ah, the sweet songs we sang. Our Wallingford informants did make, however, and sent us this photo of the bike blender they constructed for the occasion. ¡Vive la bicicleta!

We noted back in March that a new auto repair shop was opening where Walt's used to be on 45th St, across from the Taco Time. We're getting a few reviews, so we thought we'd share. Amy writes: Green Care Auto Repair (http://greencareautorepair.com) has opened in the old Walt's location on 45th Street. I took my car in last week and had a positive experience there. The owner, Alex, was friendly and helpful. He said the shop opened Monday, April 5.…
