The old Essential Bakery space won't be vacant long, according to Wallyhood tipster Ryan G: I spoke to the folks as Essential Baking, they said that a bicycle manufacturer is coming to town in place of the bakery. Brooke at Speedy Reedy (great shop) confirmed that the founders of Wheelsmiths, the first spoke manufacturer in the United States is opening some sort of facility where the bakery used to be. With our new school levies passed, it's official that Wallyhood will have another elementary school. McDonald School will open this fall in its temporary location, at the Lincoln High School site (4400 Interlake Avenue North), while the school's building on 54th and Latona goes under some serious renovation for the next two years.
