Eagle-eyed tipsters from around the 'hood spotted changes afoot at the city's finest taco truck, Rancho Bravo Tacos. For some time now, a newer, larger truck has been waiting in the wings, parked next door in the Golden Oldies lot, and it looks like her time has come to shine. With our new school levies passed, it's official that Wallyhood will have another elementary school. McDonald School will open this fall in its temporary location, at the Lincoln High School site (4400 Interlake Avenue North), while the school's building on 54th and Latona goes under some serious renovation for the next two years. Izilla Toys in Wallingford Center is having their Grand Reopening this Sunday, February 21st from 10 am - 3 pm: Chris Ballew, aka Caspar Babypants, will be performing at 11 am and Jackie Brulotee ("The Best Face Painter in the World") will be painting faces with hypo-allergenic, FDA approved face paints at 12:30 pm. As a result of community feedback on my last playground post, Amores Perros, I contacted Seattle Parks and Recreation with our request for a MuttMitt dispenser for Wallingford Playfield. I've been informed by a communications manager that due to budget cuts, the Parks Department will not be able to accomodate all requests as they have in the past, but he has put it to the attention of the grounds supervisor so it is now officially under consideration.
