Much Ado About Food

Gas Works Park was buzzing with 50+ chefs on Tuesday morning -- all from big name restaurants throughout the city.  The backdrop served as a place to film a promotional video for Seattle Restaurant Week, which makes its debut April 18-29.  During that week, over 100 restaurants citywide will be serving three course dinners for $25, and many will also serve three course lunches for $15.  Wallingford restaurants Avila, Ivar's Salmon House, Joule, and Tilth will participate in the promotion. Magma Flows Citywide

For the entire month of March, Wallingford's Hollow Earth Radio is hosting Magma Festival 2010. This city wide festival brings together 54 acts spread across 10 shows at 9 all ages venues. Then There Was Light…And it Was ‘Green’

With the help of federal stimulus dollars, Seattle City Council has approved City Light's new initiative in replacing the standard orange-glow, High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) streetlamps to LEDs.  The first phase will replace 5,000 existing HPS lamps, eventually swapping out all 80,000 streetlamps city-wide, over a four year period. Currently, there are pilot programs in Capitol Hill and South Park, in which City Light is testing light quality and brightness.  They're also garnering feedback from each neighborhood which they will convey back…

Man Stabbed at 7 Eleven on 40th and Stone Way

Seattle Crime reports that a 42 year-old man was stabbed at 6:15 p.m. this evening in front of the 7 Eleven on 40th and Stone Way.  Two men got into a fight and the suspect stabbed the victim once in the lower back. The victim may have been armed with a crowbar and police are looking for a white Mustang with a smashed window. Hamilton’s Young Musicians Concert

On Wednesday, February 24, Hamilton music students will participate in Musicathon 2010--a 12-hour music marathon in return for pledges that benefit the 12 music ensembles at the school.  The last event of the day, "The Young Musicians Concert" will take place at 7 p.m. in the Lincoln auditorium.  This event is free and open to the public.
