New store to open at former Meridian Market site

Wallyhood reader David snapped this picture for us yesterday, showing the new brown paper covering the windows of the space formerly occupied by Meridian Market (2201 N 56th St).  "I'm hoping this means something new is in the works," David wrote. Indeed, it does!  Looks like the space will soon have a new tenant.  EveryBlock Seattle shows a new liquor license application for a grocery store, called the 56th Street Market, to sell beer and wine.
