Shots Fired in East Wallingford

While Wine World held its private grand opening party tonight (the public grand opening party is tomorrow night), apparently some less sophisticated drinkers were rumbling across the street. The Seattle Crime blog reports:

Seattle police responded to a shots fired call in Wallingford around 7:45pm tonight, near a pizza place and tattoo parlor.

That would be Slave to the Needle Tattto and Milano Pizza, by process of elimination. No additional information is available, except that a bullet was lodged in the building.…

Hamilton 6th grader struck by car

Yesterday at about 7:45 a.m., a 6th grade student from Hamilton was struck by a car while she was in the crosswalk at 43rd and Wallingford Avenue North.  A Hamilton parent wrote in our Forums that the student sustained hip and thigh injuries, but that the school informed the students yesterday that she will be o.k., which we’re very glad to hear.

As you summon your holiday shopping derring-do, prepared to face the battle of the crowds, you might want to consider making a stop at J.C. Penney up in Northgate.  Way out of the neighborhood, I know–but here’s why:  Any purchases you make at the store between now and December 14, J.C. Stone Soup Presents-A Child’s Christmas In Wales

Stone Soup Theatre (4029 Stone Way N.) presents A Child’s Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas and Directed by Jenny McMurry. Productions begin December 3-24, Friday-Sunday, with special matinée performances on Wednesday, December 22, Thursday, December 23, and Friday, December 24 at 1:00pm and 3:00pm.  Evening performances take place Friday and Saturday 7:30pm, and Saturday and Sunday matinees begin at 2:00pm.  (No 7:30pm performances on December 24th)

Ticket Prices are $18 per person or $16 per person for groups of 4 or more.
