Local Artist Melinda Hannah and Aditi Yoga|Wellness Studio Sponsor a Celebration at the Wallingford Center

February is a short month, so I believe we can justify stretching the season of love and appreciation beyond the 14th of February and share a Valentine message. Wallingford is fortunate to have a talented artist, Melinda Hannah, who loves to memorialize the heritage homes found in our neighborhood and across the city. “It’s all about the legacy of this great community,” she says. You may have met Melinda at the Wallingford Farmer’s Market (Wallyhood did a feature on her artwork…

Valentine’s Day Starts Early on Corliss

A couple of years ago, we reported on the mysterious case of Valentine’s Day hearts set out along the planting strip of Bagley Avenue N. I didn’t see any last year, although perhaps I missed them. But this year, the mysterious somebody is back! When I walked up Corliss Avenue N (between N 40th and N 43rd Streets) on February 11, hearts aplenty adorned the planting strip. And there were some along Bagley, too. How long they will remain is unknown.…

She also feels that in urban tech centers like Seattle, people are often working on intangible projects that make it difficult to walk away and say “I…

A Sneak Peak into Seattle Furniture Company

Seattle Furniture Company may just be the coolest shop you've never heard of! Hiding in the basement next to Norco Medical Supply and marked by an inconspicuous sandwich board is a 7000+ square foot trove of American and Danish mid century furnishings, along with vintage and contemporary, Asian, industrial and Hollywood Regency home décor. Located 0.1 mile from my house, I'm ashamed to admit that I walked by for several years without believing there was anything worthwhile inside such an unassuming…
