As a follow-up to Sunday's story that Jupiter Music had been robbed, two commenters noted that Julia's had apparently been robbed the same night. In related news, My Green Lake has two crime stories this week: a mugging at 65th and Woodlawn (two suspects taken into custody shortly after) and car prowls at the Green Lake Preschool. The moral of the story: for your own protection, please don't own anything of value.

Jupiter Music Robbed

Jupiter Recording, the little recording studio tucked next to the Durn Good at the corner of 40th and Wallingford, was robbed last night. They've sent out a message via Twitter with a list of the items stolen. Keep your eyes peeled for these appearing in pawn shops, Craigslist, and some guy's trunk: Seattle area musicians and studio types watch out for someone trying to sell 2 Neumann M147s, 2 vintage AKG C414EBs, Royer R122, 2 Crown CM700s, Oktava ML52 Ribbon, Lots…

Looks like the crackdown on shady motels on Aurora that we covered a month or so ago haven't yet succeeded in rooting out the trouble. Steve pointed us towards this Seattle Times story: Seattle police and King County sheriff's deputies have surrounded a green Honda whose occupants may have been involved in a shooting in Shoreline earlier today. According to the Sheriff's Office, a gunshot was fired around 11:30 this morning in the parking lot of Sugar's strip club in Shoreline.…

Neighboring Neighborhoods Round-Up

Phinneywood notes that they've got their own crime wave going on, including a serial robber who targets dentist offices for their cash, drugs and gold fillings. Fremont Universe is helping B.F. Day recruit tutors My Green Lake is offering lessons in how not to be a douchebag, courtesy of someone named Horseknuckle. Hilarity ensues. EastlakeAve has embedded some b-boy (breakdancing) videos shot in the Eastlake neighborhood. They're pretty good. This one's our favorite:

Sex Offender in Wallingford

Last week, a reader wrote to us to notify us that a Class III sex offender had moved into Wallingford and asked that we alert the neighborhood. The writer, who asked to remain anonymous, said she periodically checks the King County Sheriff Department's sex offender registry web site to see if any sex offenders (who are required by law to register their residence) were nearby. She was shocked to discover that one had moved onto her block, which is a stone's…

Our neighbor Olivier called to let us know that he spotted four police cars blocking off an area around 40th St NE near I-5 Sunday morning. When he asked what was going on, he was told someone had found a hand grenade. We've dropped a line to our contacts at the SPD and will let you know if and when we learn more. Update: Mark Jamieson of the Seattle Police Department responded: A road crew working yesterday picking up trash discovered…

A Litany of Crime

We don't have any way to keep official count, but here's what we've heard of in the last week: Molly Moon's was robbed at gunpoint this past week. We don't have any more details of this, just heard it from two community leaders. Jon, who lives on 40th near I-5, twittered Saturday night: "Somebody broke in our back door. I am so done with this f***ing house" and "Nothing of mine was jacked, I don't think--and everyone is ok. But roomie…
