Jill just sent us this note moments ago: Get the word out: lock your doors!  Turn on your lights! At about 7:00pm this evening, burglars broke into our house through the back (mudroom) door, went straight upstairs and ransacked our bedroom.  My husband came home and scared them off - he heard people leave through the back door.  We have gone to tell a handful of neighbors while we wait for the police... We are at 4065 Latona in the brick…

With great shame, we must issue a correction. Yesterday, we described a police raid at the Wallingford Inn, in which a crack-crazed Seahawks fan broke into rooms and assaulted people. We thought that this happened Wednesday night. Well, as it turns out, the aforementioned events happened last week at the Wallingford Inn. What happened this Wednesday was a whole different story, again covered by the fine folks over at the Seattle Crime blog: Seattle SWAT, patrol and robbery taskforce units descended…

Wallingford Inn Madness

We got an e-mail from Forrest last night, who spotted something up at the Wallingford Inn: I saw (what looked to be) prep for a pretty hefty undercover bust of the Wallingford Inn on 45th & Aurora as I got off the bus...Drugs? Looked pretty serious. Yep, drugs and more. As we recall, last year someone stole the wreath and LED christmas…

In an official statement, he said that two weeks ago an individual entered Tully’s Coffee at 2100 N 45th St, claiming to have a weapon and demanded the money in the till. Earle said that staff handled the situation well and according to protocol. “From our standpoint, we never want to have…

Those of you who have been reading the many comments on our Door-to-door Ladies post know this already, but it bears bubbling up into the main blog feed for those who may have missed it: There are a variety of people canvassing Wallingford saying they're selling magazine subscriptions or the like. One is a man, black, who says he is an ex-gang member from Atlanta. There are a pair of women as well, saying they are in an entrepreneurial program. Both…
