Another Stolen Package

You may remember our last post on this subject: Package Thefts. Now, Marilyn writes: Amazon shows that I had a book delivered to my porch last Friday night at 6:58. It disappeared sometime during the night. This is the 4th package, all from Amazon, that has gone missing from my porch in 2 months. While not entirely comforting, at the very least, we can rule out the suspect involved in this month's rash of burglaries.

UPS drivers have verified that the packages were delivered to her home ,and she's home at least part of every day and most evenings. She called 911 to report the theft and the dispatcher remarked that not enough people called to report stolen packages, adding that if folks did call, they would "cruise by,…

Wallyhood reader Andrew wrote to tell us this bit of bad news from Wednesday night: On Thackeray Pl., north of 45th St., mine and my neighbor's car were both hit by a drunk driver. I was asleep at the time, and was woken up by a roommate, around 10:30, after the incident. My car got a good scrape on the passenger side, largely bad comestic. Package theft

Ugh, this is no good. Joan writes: Hey Wallyhood - just thought we'd put the word out that a package was stolen off our porch yesterday afternoon. The mailman said this has happened to others in Wallingford as well, so might be a good idea to be on alert and extra careful with leaving things out and about, and also to help out your neighbors by noticing any suspicious behavior. This is nothing new, really (see Lurker Lurking, Package Stealing from…
