Amazon Fresh: Busted

It's certainly not the first time we've posted about thieves poaching Amazon Fresh deliveries from people's porches here in Wallingford (and, we receive more reports than we publish), but this is the first break in the case we've heard. Joshua writes: I live on Meridian Ave between 38th and 39th.  Today, upon returning home from lunch, I noticed someone leaving my drive way with an AmazonFresh bag (there was no AmazonFresh truck parked in front of my house). The person appeared…

Lego Thief

Ugh, this is such depressing news we received from Kris today. What a way to sour someone's holiday cheer: I just found out today that a large package from Lego.com was stolen off of our covered porch at 4 pm on December 11th, 2012.  It had been sitting there for one hour and fifteen minutes and was worth about $115. One camera caught the guy pacing in front of our house for quite some time before he decided to approach the…

Car break-in over the weekend

Wallyhood reader Jack dropped us a quick note about a car break-in that happened on Sunday night: The window of our car was busted out late last night, and an emergency kit was stolen. The car was parked on Latona Ave. NE just south of the intersection with 44th. Several other cars were nearby but left alone. Our car was therefore targeted, probably because the emergency kit (stored in a very cheap-looking backpack) was visible in the back seat. The thieves…
