This post was sent in by Greg Flood, chair of the Friends of Wallingford Playground: Greetings! Some more recent arrivals to the neighborhood may not realize that Wallingford Playfield was designed by community volunteers and funded through several matching fund grants from the Department of Neighborhoods. Over 300 families participated from 1998 through 2013, led by the steering committee of Friends of Wallingford Playfield (FoWP). Lots of changes coming to businesses in the neighborhood, both happy and sad. Good news first: Seattle Pops, a favorite of my children at the Wallingford farmers market, is opening a retail location this summer at the corner of 45th and Interlake. Wallyhooder Kimberly writes: Greetings, Wallyhood! My daughter and another Wallyhood resident will be performing in an adaptation of Handel’s Serse at the Good Shepherd Center this weekend. The main character, Serse, reminds me very much of a certain orange-skinned president. It’s eerie how relevant an eighteenth-century piece can seem! There are some amazingly talented young people singing, playing period instruments, dancing and acting. We would love to present it to our neighbors! Event details: Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Good Shepherd Center…

Fresh Juice Coming to Wallingford

Wallingford is a vibrant community, where people care about what they put in their bodies and how they impact their world. Following in this spirit of my community, I have come to learn the incredible health benefits from fresh, raw juice. Juicing offers many life-enhancing health benefits. This includes a faster, more efficient way to absorb immune-boosting nutrients naturally found in fruits and vegetables. It provides a way to access digestive enzymes typically locked away in the fiber matrix of whole fruits…
