Last Wednesday, Margaret told us about the repaving of Thackeray Place, and that Metro buses would be rerouted down 45th last Thursday & Friday, as well as today. Metro has just cancelled that re-route, so catch your bus on Thackeray as you normally would today! $20 car tab fee enacted, no Metro cuts

Last Friday, King County Executive Dow Constantine announced that the King County Council had enough votes to pass a $20 car tab fee at Monday's scheduled meeting about Metro funding.  If the Council voted to enact the car tab fee, there would be no reason to put that decision before the voters in November.  And no reason for Metro to cut 600,000 service hours beginning in February. Bubbles gets a touch-up

On Sunday, folks around N. 41st St. and Interlake gathered together for a neighborhood block party, and to give Bubbles the Turtle street mural a touch up. Kids were treated to a bouncy house which was still going strong by 8:15 pm when I stopped by. Bubbles looks good as new, and gosh, I'm amazed it's been a whole year since we first told you about the neighbors getting together to create the colorful turtle.
