Zaw Pizza coming end of August

True to his word, Joe Sanders from Zaw Pizza sent us an email today with the good news: I promised Wallyhood would be the first to know... Zaw Artisan Bake at Home Pizza is coming to Wallingford! From our first day at the Wallingford Farmer's Market two seasons ago, we knew that one day we wanted to open a Zaw location in Wallingford. In the years that have passed since then, we have developed so many great friends in Wallingford &…

Night Out Tuesday

Reminder: Tuesday is Seattle Night Out: all over Wallingford (and the city), folks will be barricading off their streets to traffic, hauling lawn chairs and tables from the back yard out to the street and sharing an evening with their neighbors. According to the City of Seattle's official map, there's only one registered block in Wallingford (40th and Midvale, give it up for Shannon O'Leary for registering!), but we don't believe that for a moment. We pedaled around the neighborhood last…

Wallingford Ave blocked from 40th down to 37th

Update: there was a kitchen fire at 3907 Wallingford Avenue. No injuries reported. Traffic is now back to normal. Wallingford Avenue is closed by the Seattle Fire Dept from 40th down to about 37th due to some sort of incident -- as best I could tell from the cab I was just in, a car accident. So here's your reminder…

Last Chance: Real Change Vendor Art Show

Earlier this month, we told you about the Real Change Vendor Art Show, featuring pieces created by Real Change vendors. They've decided to host one more showing tomorrow, (Saturday, 7/30) from 1pm to 4pm: Did you miss the Art Opening for Real Change vendors? Did you like it so much you want to come again and see if maybe that piece you were thinking about but not quite sure of is still available? Do you just really like free fruit and…

Bill the Butcher gives us an update

Bill the Butcher just dropped us a line on our Facebook page in response to our post from yesterday, so we thought we'd update it here on the blog as well: By the way, I saw the 'Zaw truck out front this morning, too. Perhaps knowing that Wallingford loves us some 'Zaw, they'll give us an update as soon as they make their decision. (pssst, that was a hint, 'Zaw!)

Eva Restaurant deal contributes to Humane Society

Tangletown's Eva Restaurant (2227 North 56th St.) has got a deal this week through Ideal Network: Spend $20 on $40 worth of food and drink at the restaurant, and they'll contribute $5.00 to Seattle Humane Society. Donations will go to Seattle Humane Society's Pet Food Bank, which delivers food for pets to seniors and low-income community members. They hope to meet their goal of raising $5,000 through this promotion, which will help to feed 185 pets in a year. Click here…
