Ride of Silence: 7pm tonight

We've just learned the Ride of Silence takes place at 7pm tonight, starting & ending at Gas Works Park in lower Wallingford. The Ride of Silence is a free ride that asks its cyclists to ride no faster than 12 mph and remain silent during the ride. There are no sponsors and no registration fees. Half Marathon and 10K at Gas Works Park on Saturday

Gas Works Park and the Burke-Gilman Trail will be pretty busy on Saturday morning, when the inaugural "Heroes Half Marathon and 10K" kicks-off at 7 a.m.  The right lanes of North Northlake Way and N. 34th Avenue will be closed to traffic as walkers and runners make their way over to the Fremont Bridge. Grammatrain Shoots Music Video at Gas Works Park

Local post-grunge rock band Grammatrain is taking over Gas Works Park this Thursday to shoot a music video for their single, "The Last Sound."  If you're a season ticket holder for the Sounders, you've most likely heard "The Last Sound"  at Qwest Field before kickoff.  The Sounders adopted the song as their team anthem, and co-owner Drew Carey endorsed the song and pledged to help the band make a "proper video". Puget Sound yarn stores are coming together again May 20th to May 23rd to celebrate knitting and crocheting with a long weekend full of special events as part of the Fifth Annual Destination: Yarn tour.
