Beware of ‘Eric’

My apologies to all of the other Erics living in Wallingford, but we've received word that there's a man wandering around the neighborhood who introduces himself as "Eric" and may be responsible for recent burglaries in the neighborhood--particularly around Eastern Avenue. "Eric" is actually Jeffrey McCaslin who happens to be on Washington's Most Wanted list. Here's an email from Alison with all of the details: Hi everyone, I have more information about my burglary, so I thought I’d share it. I…

Flower thief in the neighborhood

We just got this disturbing email, complete with a photo and video from Craig about a flower thief who was caught red-handed on his security camera: My wife has a pretty great garden, it is just getting started this year since the spring hasn’t been that warm (yet).  We have had a number of odd incidents in our yard with flowers mysteriously being cut over the past few years.  I’ve been perplexed as to who would go and take flowers in…

Since she's just transferred, give her a week or so to get settled…

Mayor’s Public Safety Survey

The Mayor wants to hear from us, and boy do we have a lot to say if the Wallyhood comments sections about burglaries and graffiti are any indication. Here's the deal, as described on seattle.gov: The City of Seattle is conducting a public opinion survey among Seattle residents aged 18 and over concerning their views of public safety and the Seattle Police Department. We are only asking for your opinion on the Seattle Police Department, not other police agencies such as…

We just received word of two crimes that happened in the neighborhood today.  The first is a stolen car: I don't know if you guys could help me out at all, but my car was stolen today from right outside my house! My roommate got home at 2:30 and said she saw it there, but when we left the house at 4:00 it was missing. I called the cops so I know it wasn't towed. It was parked along Keystone PL…
