We heard through the Wallyvine that Wally Pets (4411 Wallingford Ave N.) is about to change hands. So, I dropped in and spoke to the soon-to-be new owner who verified this little tidbit, and he says the change will occur officially on August 1. I promised to return to interview him for Wallyhood--especially since he pointed out several framed photographs of exotic animals from all over the world, and told me he was the one who photographed them in the wild.…
Update 8:30pm: Lisa Dank has returned Benny to Mel this evening. She emailed Megan Seling at the Stranger with her side of the story. Click here to read it. On Tuesday, we told you about the cute little Toy Fox Terrier, named Benny, who went missing after getting spooked by some neighborhood fireworks in the middle of the night. Since then, Benny's owner, Mel Weipert has been posting flyers everywhere, asking for help. Benny's cute little mug has been all…
Thanks to everyone for their support and eyes-out looking for Stella, the pooch dognapped from the Durn Good Grocery on Wednesday. Still no word on Stella's return, but Jasmine sent in this picture she happened to snap of the little girl earlier this week. Keep your eyes peeled! The Rat Terrier was last seen immediately outside of the store, on the sidewalk at about 12:40pm this afternoon. Williamson was inside fixing a freezer when he saw Stella go outside. Moments later, when he went to check on her, he couldn't find her. The owner of Ramona Cleaners across the street was pointing and yelling over to him, but Williamson couldn't…
I have a small backyard that gets a couple hours of good sun a day. In the rainy season our dog completely destroyed what little grass existed when we moved in last summer. We are interested in planting grass and don't know where to start. The yard is mostly mud now. Please let me know any tips and when we should start. ---Heather Heather, Your observations illustrate several things going on that contributed to the loss of your lawn: grass needs…
My Green Lake tells us that the Seattle Humane Soctiety's MaxMobile will be in Tangletown tomorrow for on-the-spot adoption of cats, dogs, and perhaps a bunny or two. The 33' distinctively-yellow MaxMobile will be parked (now there's a challenge) in front of Mighty-O Donuts (2110 North 55th St.), from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Here's your chance to adopt that pet you've always wanted. All that, and a bag of donuts, I'd say makes for the perfect Sunday! Thanks for the…
