The Great Wallingford Wurst Festival

The Wurst is yet to come, neighbors. In fact, it's this weekend! The 30th annual Great Wallingford Wurst Festival takes place Friday and Saturday (September 21-22) on the grounds of St. Benedict School (4811 Wallingford Avenue North). Young neighbor raising money for friend with brain cancer

Last year, we told you about seven year-old Savannah's quest to raise money for pediatric brain research on behalf of her friend, Torin, who had been diagnosed with a high grade malignant brain tumor. Savannah and her mom, Margie, took part in the 2011 Run for Hope 3k walk and, with the help from friends, family, and neighbors, she raised $1,900 in donations (her goal was $1,000!). You have one more chance to visit the sloth bears at Woodland Park Zoo this weekend (September 15-16).
