Wallingford’s Most Wanted

Sometimes, Wallyhood provides a place for readers to do a bit of community policing in its Forums and Comments.  So, to be safer and better-informed, read on: A rash of plant poisonings and uprootings.  Got any leads?  Have your plants been damaged?  Ideas about why someone would target such helpless and innocent victims? How safe is Wallingford for single, female residents?, asks a potential newcomer from the Eastside.  Got any input or experiences? The ever-contentious debate over removing signs from telephone…

Also this Sunday, Perche'No Pasta & Vino (1319 N. 49th St) has Opera Night from 6 - 8 pm, featuring live opera music and piano. Enjoy it with a…

As a part of the Seattle Public Schools, John Stanford International School is a nationally acclaimed and award winning K-5 elementary school right in the heart of Wallingford.  Students who attend John Stanford International School (JSIS) will learn half the day in either Spanish or Japanese. A bit of history:  The landmark school was built in 1906, as one of nineteen wood frame…

Since the earthquake and tsunami in Japan last week, a few Wallingford businesses have come forward to donate a portion of their profits toward relief efforts in Japan. We reported that Issian was contributing a portion of their sales, and tonight, Wine World is holding a sake class, and donating 100% of the entry fees. (sorry, folks, that was on Wednesday night!)  On Friday, Wine World store will also hold its regularly-scheduled tasting, but suggests a $10 donation to help raise…
