Sounds like a law firm, doesn't it? Well, if legal briefs were made of sculptural blown glass and subpoenas were crafted from vintage and contemporary porcelain tableware, it would be. But they are not. Legal briefs are made from snails and puppy dog tails (cut from live, squealing puppies), subpoenas are writ with tears on tar and Pozniak, Rak, Kraft, Rader and Wittlinger are the names of five artists holding a studio sale this weekend, yesterday through Sunday, Dec 12th, 10…

The Oasis Art Gallery (3644 Wallingford Ave. N) has a one day show this Sunday, November 7th, 3 - 6 pm, featuring the work of 5 talented youth from the area. The theme was selected because they have all been fortunate enough to travel more and learn more about other parts of the world. It was…

First Wednesday of the month is tomorrow, which means Art Walk time. Honestly, we were a bit surprised that the new co-chairs, Tara Shuttleworth and Katie McCallister, decided to make a go of it through the winter (in previous years, it's been summer-only). There were busy nights this past year, but also some pretty quiet ones. Add in the certainty of rain during the winter, and getting the crowds out will be a challenge. Re-Leaf Massage, Seattle Bank, Tangerine, Harold's Lamps…

Yesterday we said that today's Wallingford Art Walk would be the last of the season. It will not. Unlike the last few years, when Art Walk took a winter break, they're going to try to run it throughout the winter this year. Tara will be taking over in December. It's not 100% clear to us who chairing it next month (Colleen and Alex, the existing chairs, are stepping down after today's Art Walk and Tara isn't taking over until December), but…

Last week tolled the bell for the final Wallingford Farmers Market of 2010, and this week we ring out a year of Wallingford Art Walk. Tomorrow, Wednesday October 6th from 6 - 9 pm marks your last opportunity to stroll the avenues and alleys of Wallingford as if it were Paris in the Spring, popping into galleries to admire the works of artists while sipping on a glass* of wine and chatting with your neighbors. Where should you stroll? Here's what…
