Will (snap) you (snap) marry (snap)…

Archie McPhee's awesomely named blog, Endless Geyser of Awesome, had this awesome story on Saturday: Today, at our Seattle store, a customer used the photo booth to propose to his girlfriend. As you can see in the picture above, he held a different sign for each of the four pictures that spelled out “Will you marry me?” He had her get the picture from the machine. She said yes! Definitely, one of the most romantic things to ever happen at Archie McPhee. Come…

Christmas Ships at Gas Works

The Christmas Ships and the Parade of Boats will serenade Wallingford from Gas Works Park this Thursday, December 1st from 8:20 - 8:40 pm. It always seems to last longer than that, though.  In a good way. You Inspire Me

In the end, twenty-four of you took us up on our offer and donated to the Wallingford-based food bank and family services organization FamilyWorks and received a jar our our "fresh from Wallingford gardens" honey as a thank you. The food bank has over $1,400 more to work with thanks to you. We stopped off at FamilyWorks on Tuesday to drop off the honey (donators are encouraged to pick up at FamilyWorks itself, so they can see where their donations are…

Seattle Bike Blog reminds us to be safe this holiday weekend

Tom over at Seattle Bike Blog posted a pic of an accident that happened on the Burke Gilman Trail this afternoon. The photo was sent to the blog by Wallyhood neighbor Geoff. It seems the car, pictured below, crashed and came to rest on the Burke Gilman Trail @N. 36th St. and N. Pacific. The incident happened around 2:00pm this afternoon and the trail was reopened by 2:45. No ambulances were called to the scene, according to the 911 report. Be…

Don't want to cook for Thanksgiving? I don't blame you, and I do have a little piece of good news if you were planning on having a Thanksgiving meal out: Chutney's Bistro in Wallingford Center will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner buffet with all the trimmings, from 11:00am until 8:00pm. The cost is $13.95 per person which also includes a complimentary glass of champagne or wine, or a non-alcoholic drink of your choice. I'm told, too, that guests may also…
