46th Street Mural Dedication

Now that was fast!  The 46th Street Mural will be dedicated on Friday, August 27th. In April, the City announced that the Fremont/Wallingford 46th Street Mural Project would be funded through the Small and Simple Projects Fund: This project will build community and improve the cityscape by constructing a lasting mural to brighten this underpass, used by thousands of cars and many pedestrians every day.  It will create a neighborhood identification linking upper Fremont and Wallingford and deter crime and graffiti…

Crime Redux

Perhaps it was a "speak of the devil" moment, but no sooner did we break our long "no crime stories" streak on Friday, then we walk out to our garage on Sunday and find our own bike missing. Phooey! Blackberries Along The Burke

If you’ve noticed people gingerly poking around the brambles alongside the Burke Gilman Trail, chances are they’ve spotted patches of ripened wild blackberries. Our little band of berry pickers biked down to the Trail today and found a lush spot parallel to Dunato’s Marine Services and Supply.  Though it looked like most of the brambles had already been picked clean, there were still plenty of places underneath for little hands to reach. Reminder: Pirates and Pipsqueaks

Quickie reminder: this Sunday, from noon to 5 pm is the Pirates and Pipsqueaks festival in the lot behind Solid Ground. Trophy Cupcakes will be giving out cupcakes to all the kids who participate in the Cupcake Walk, and there will be Dunk the Pirate, a Pirate Bounce House, Walk the Plank, Pirate Whiffle Ball, Ducks in the Pond, Balloon Darts, and Bottle Ring Toss among other niceties.
